Beer Running into the New Year
• Dec 31st, 2009 • Category: In the newsChago Navarro shows off his beer runner pride at the finish line of today’s 5th Annual Run into the New Year at State Fair Park in Wisconsin. A former Division 1 collegiate runner, Navarro covered the snowy and slushy 5K course in about 18:30.
About 1,300 people braved an icy wind and 20-degree temperatures for their last race of the decade. Their reward: A goodie bag with champagne and free beer after the race.
Happy New Year, beer runners. What is your resolution for the new decade?

The award for the NYE 10K in Little Downham UK was a half liter of beer brewed especially for the occasion. Pretty good stuff–picture and comments here:

That guy went to my high school 6 or 8 years before me….he is a running legend! He holds every major distance record and a few state titles. I just started reading this site 10 days ago, and it’s funny that I recognized someone on it!
Wow, what a small world. Thanks for reading, Chad.
Yes small world, unfortunately I now runner slower than I did in High School.
