Study reveals beer bellies a big fat myth

A six pack, not a beer belly

This blog is sort of turning into a journal of beer health studies lately.

The latest news exposes beer bellies to be a big fat myth, as reported by WebMD and previously picked up by Draftmag.com.

OK, so that doesn’t mean you can’t get a spare tire from drinking too much beer.

But you’re no more likely to grow a gut from beer than you are from binging on hard liquor and wine.

Not only that, but the study found no link between drinking and body weight in men, and only a small effect of drinking on women’s weight.

And beer runners probably are even less likely to develop a beer paunch. So in other words: Run, drink and be merry.

Of course, the study said nothing of beer drinkers and the likelihood of having Beer Bellies™.
