Beer Runner Profile: MilTownKid
By Tim Cigelske • Apr 27th, 2009 • Category: Beer Runner profile
Here on the Beer Runner we’ve met Beer Surfers, Beer Hikers and Beer Personal Trainers.
Casey Payne, aka the MilTownKid, is our very first Beer Ninja.
“I would consider myself a Beer Ninja” he confirmed.
MilTownKid became Internet famous after recording “The Death of my XBox 360,” (Definitely NSFW), which featured him swearing at lot at the demise of his gaming system. The video currently has more than 1.4 million views on YouTube.
He followed that hit up with such videos as Crazy Arm Bar and Best Ninja Trick EVER!!!
“I just woke up this morning and was like, ‘I think I need to jump over the couch,’” he explained for the latter video.
In addition to being a Beer Ninja, you’re also into soccer, swimming, Taichi, Brazilian jui-jitsu, juggling, acrobatics and running. Which is best paired with a post-activity beer?
Any activity can be a good post beer activity if the proper precautions are taken. My personal favorite is drunken juggling. Pretty much the worse thing that can happen is a stray ball knocking over a beer (which is actually pretty terrible, but serves as a lesson in not crying over spilled beer). In a close second is drunken Taichi Push Hands. Here are some clips of sober push hands.
What are some of your favorite places to run?
I love getting down to the lakefront and running, but my usual running path takes me through Miller Valley. Now that I think about it, I could reverse that run and time it so that I could finish at Miller Valley just in time for a beer tour!
You created Drink n Pwn: video games paired with drinking. What do you prefer to drink when you Drink n Pwn?
As defined from Wikipedia: Pwn is a leetspeak slang term, derived from the verb own, as meaning to appropriate or to conquer to gain ownership. The term implies domination or humiliation of a rival, used primarily in the Internet gaming culture to taunt an opponent who has just been soundly defeated (e.g. “You just got pwned!”). Drinking and pwning is an art of balance. Too much pwn and not enough drinking = FAIL, also too much drink and not enough pwning = FAIL. Properly balanced you become one with both the drinking and the pwning and achieved this drunken digital Nirvana… Or something like that. My drink of preference is New Glarus Spotted Cow, but I’ve seen a strong presence of PBR at some event we’ve hosted.
You lived for 5 years in Taiwan. What would happen if you were the TaipeiTownKid?
The funny thing is I thought about being the TaipeiKid, but someone already had the dot com. I actually already know what would have happened (because it did). Every Friday a group of buddies would meet at the Taiwan Beer Factory’s Beer Garden. I’d practice Brazilian Jujitsu just about every day and finish (or start!) class with some cold ones. I’ve been informed that they now have a keg in the gym! A really good or bad thing.
Anything else to add?
And I’d randomly end up in a Taiwan Beer commercial somehow.
